2012-02-24 Kiwa recognised as National Certification Body by IECEE
The International Electrotechnical Committee for Electrical Equipment (IECEE) has approved Kiwa as National Certification Body (NCB) for the certification of PhotoVoltaic Modules (PV) and systems (Solar Energy modules). This recognition means that Kiwa has joined the so-called 'Champions League' of certification in this area.
As an NCB, Kiwa is now able to offer the internationally recognised CB certificate. This means that from now on, Kiwa's customers will have direct access to more than 50 different countries that are affiliated with the IECEE. The IECEE prescribes that an NCB, like Kiwa, should have an independent laboratory whose experience and expertise are assessed by the IECEE. If it complies with the requirements, such a laboratory will be granted the status of Certification Body Testing Laboratory (CBTL). Kiwa has found a partner in the Italian PV Laboratory IRCcOS.
What applies in an increasing number of countries when it comes to solar energy is that if a supplier of solar energy wishes to qualify for compensation, the components of the installation, including the PV modules, must be certified by an NCB of the IECEE.
From now on, Kiwa is listed on the IECEE website: www.IECEE.org
The IECEE is the most prominent, international organisation that publishes guidelines for a wide range of electronic and electrotechnical products and systems. Certificates based on the IECEE are recognised internationally by markets in more than 50 different countries that are affiliated with the IECEE.
